Local organic growers, market gardeners and green thumbs bring their fresh produce to the market. Saturday mornings you will find them busy setting up their tables with the season's best. Early in the season the tables are loaded with peas, lettuces, greens, radishes, new potatoes, and herbs. Later, the season brings varieties of berries, peppers, broccoli, peaches, pickling cucumbers, carrots, corn onions, squash, tomatoes, apples, and much more.

The Newport Farmers' Market has more than produce and garden blooms. You will find beautiful arts and crafts, unique services and fun events. Hand made soaps, knitted and felted hats, garden art, wooden planters, beautiful jewelry, tie dye clothing, photography, art glass, and much, much more. You can also get a massage and listen to great music! All of the handcrafted items at the Market are made by local artists. A fun place to shop for the perfect gift.

Event Description: Santa will arrive at the Embarcadero Resort, a little after 10:00 am, by a US Coast Guard Cutter, to meet with visitors & guests before:

A Newport Fire Truck, will take him from the Embarcadero Resort to the Newport Recreation Center !

Santa will meet with children young and old, and you can have your picture taken with Santa at the Rec Center from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm!

Be sure to visit with Santa and tell him what you would like for Christmas !

The Pacific Communities Health District Foundation presents the 19th Annual Festival of Trees from Dec.10 to 14 at the Best Western Agate Beach Inn in Newport. Beautifully decorated trees, entertainment, visits with Santa, and special events all create a festive environment.

This year, the festival theme is "A Season of Gratitude." Together, we will raise funds for equipment that will enhance women's health care in the Samaritan Pacific Health Services (SPHS) Surgical Department.

Plan to attend one or more events to set the tone for this holiday season. Special events include:

Open House - Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 2 to 8 p.m. Enjoy carolers and refreshments as you meander among a forest of beautifully decorated trees. Suggested donation is $2 for children, $5 for adults, and $10 for a family. No one is turned away. Special thanks to our sponsors OSU Federal Credit Union and the Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital Auxiliary.

Newport Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours for members and their guests - Thursday, Dec. 11, 5:15 to 7 p.m. Special thanks to our sponsor Samaritan Pacific Health Services.

Gala and Auction - Saturday, Dec. 13, 5:30 to 10 p.m. By reservation only. Savor the champagne social as you peruse the silent auction table to the music of the Bringetto Jazz Orchestra. Delight in a scrumptious buffet featuring prime rib, roasted salmon, and potato gnocchi before bidding on trees, experiences, and art during the live auction. $95 per person on or before Dec. 1/$115 after Dec. 1. Oregon's own incomparably hip small orchestra will play two evening concerts at the Performing Arts Center on December 16 and 17.

This house jazz band gone hipster-classical has a large and devoted national following. Led by Thomas Lauderdale at the piano, Pink Martini has performed in many countries across several continents, bringing a better and more diverse vision of American life and music to the world. With Lauderdale's interest in politics, the group often performs at fundraisers for various causes.
