Summer Market - outdoors (next to city hall) - 9 am to 1 pm
Winter Market - indoors (county fairgrounds exhibit hall) - 10 am - 2 pm

Local organic growers, market gardeners and green thumbs bring their fresh produce to the market. Saturday mornings you will find them busy setting up their tables with the season's best. Early in the season the tables are loaded with peas, lettuces, greens, radishes, new potatoes, and herbs. Later, the season brings varieties of berries, peppers, broccoli, peaches, pickling cucumbers, carrots, corn onions, squash, tomatoes, apples, and much more.

The Newport Farmers' Market has more than produce and garden blooms. You will find beautiful arts and crafts, unique services and fun events. Hand made soaps, knitted and felted hats, garden art, wooden planters, beautiful jewelry, tie dye clothing, photography, art glass, and much, much more. You can also get a massage and listen to great music! All of the handcrafted items at the Market are made by local artists. A fun place to shop for the perfect gift.

Oregon Coast Aquarium's Annual "Sea of Lights"

December 5-7, 20-21, and 27-28 (i.e., every Saturday and Sunday in December)

Cost: $2 plus 2 non-perishable food items, pet food or new un-wrapped toy - or $8 without food. Sea of Lights will be open evenings until 8pm on the following dates: Dec 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 & 29. Admission included with day ticket or $8 after 5pm.

Event Description: A celebration of the holiday season will be on show at the Oregon Coast Aquarium for Sea of Lights starting Friday, December 5, and then on every Saturday and Sunday in December.

The Aquarium will immerse visitors with holiday cheer amidst the festive glow of the largest holiday lights display on Oregon's central coast and pictures with Santa. Under the sea, Submerged Santa will read holiday stories while floating among fishes in the Aquarium's Coastal Waters Gallery.

Admission is $2 with two items of non-perishable food for Food Share of Lincoln County. Guests may also bring pet food for the Lincoln County Animal Shelter or a new unwrapped children's toy for the Newport Fire Department's Holiday Toy Drive in place of a food donation. Entry for those without food or toy donations is $8.00. Admission is free to members, but they are encouraged to bring an item to donate.

Sea of Lights will illuminate the Aquarium until 8:00 p.m. beginning Saturday, December 13 and continuing every Saturday and Sunday in December. Admission to this show of sparkling holiday cheer, including photo opportunities with Santa, is $8.00 after 5:00 p.m. Admission to Sea of Lights is free for Aquarium members.

Oregon's own incomparably hip small orchestra will play two evening concerts at the Performing Arts Center on December 16 and 17.

This house jazz band gone hipster-classical has a large and devoted national following. Led by Thomas Lauderdale at the piano, Pink Martini has performed in many countries across several continents, bringing a better and more diverse vision of American life and music to the world. With Lauderdale's interest in politics, the group often performs at fundraisers for various causes.

Event Description: The seventh annual Crab Krack will be held at 4pm, Sunday, January 18th at the Best Western Agate Beach Inn in Newport. This crustacean commemoration and feast raises funds for renovations at the Lincoln County Historical Society's Pacific Maritime & Heritage Center.

Tickets for the Crab Krack are available now, and can be purchased at the Burrows House and Pacific Maritime & Heritage Museums, as well as Englund Marine. Cost for members is $45 per person, for non-members $50. Memberships start as low as $20 a year. Event Description: Chefs from up and down the Oregon Coast enter their best sweet or savory chocolate dish, to be judged by our esteemed panel of judges, and by YOU! RSVP brings you the 24th Annual Chocolate Classics, the main annual fundraiser for the program helping seniors find volunteer opportunities and providing essential services to the seniors of Lincoln County. For $35 per person or $60 per couple (in advance), attendees get to sample all the chocolate they can eat along with milk, coffee, and a bar sponsored by Twisted Snout Brewery. Event Description: The last weekend of every February, the central Oregon coast resort town of Newport, swells to well over 17,000 visitors coming to the Festival! for a weekend of wine, wonders in the culinary world, seafood and arts & crafts.

Over 35 food vendors, 24 crafters and 85 wineries will be found at this enormous Festival!

A large variety of craft items will be sold, from articles of clothing, jewlery and art glass, metal sculptures, works of art and hand-painted creamics to handcrafted wine accessories.

Be sure to book lodging early, there is still some availability at this time, but lodging will fill as the event draws closer.

You must be 21 years or older to attend this event. You must also show valid picture ID or you will not be able to enter the event. The site is handicapped accessible and smoke free, with a special outdoor smoking area. Limited parking is available at the facility for a fee, and shuttle buses will run for FREE from Newport, and a shuttle schedule and map will be available on the Chamber's website.
