Local organic growers, market gardeners and green thumbs bring their fresh produce to the market. Saturday mornings you will find them busy setting up their tables with the season's best. Early in the season the tables are loaded with peas, lettuces, greens, radishes, new potatoes, and herbs. Later, the season brings varieties of berries, peppers, broccoli, peaches, pickling cucumbers, carrots, corn onions, squash, tomatoes, apples, and much more.

The Newport Farmers' Market has more than produce and garden blooms. You will find beautiful arts and crafts, unique services and fun events. Hand made soaps, knitted and felted hats, garden art, wooden planters, beautiful jewelry, tie dye clothing, photography, art glass, and much, much more. You can also get a massage and listen to great music! All of the handcrafted items at the Market are made by local artists. A fun place to shop for the perfect gift.

Event Description: Chefs from up and down the Oregon Coast enter their best sweet or savory chocolate dish, to be judged by our esteemed panel of judges, and by YOU! You've never had a better reason to indulge! RSVP brings you the 24th Annual Chocolate Classics, the main annual fundraiser for the program helping seniors find volunteer opportunities and providing essential services to the seniors of Lincoln County. For $35 per person or $60 per couple (in advance), attendees get to sample all the chocolate they can eat along with milk, coffee, and a bar sponsored by Twisted Snout Brewery. Attendees also have the chance to bid on silent auction items, and participate in a costume contest. The theme of the event this year is "Peace, Love & Chocolate: The 1960's". NEWPORT SYMPHONY PLAYS NEW & OLD PROGRAM – Conductor Adam Flatt leads the 60 member symphony in new music by Osvaldo Golijov with special guest soprano MeeAe Nam. In addition, the symphony will play the joyful perfection of Beethoven's Fourth at the Performing Arts Center. $22-34 tickets or $10 students. Event Description: The 8th Annual Hearts for Horses Benefit Dinner and Auction will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan 31, 2015 at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, 2820 SE Ferry Slip Road in Newport.

Guests are welcome to tour the Aquarium exhibits, enjoy a variety of appetizers, hors d'oeuvres and desserts from some of Newport's finest eateries. The event will include a silent auction as well as an oral auction and feature live music by the Lucky Gap Band.

Tickets cost $40 per person, $75 for a couple, and children under 12 are Free. Tickets may be purchased at the Oregon Coast Aquarium or online at brighthorizonsriding.org or by contacting Amy Cline at 541-961-4156 or info@brighthorizonsriding.org.

All proceeds raised at the benefit will go toward rider scholarships and the care of the center's horses.



Newport Seafood and Wine Festival

Event Description: The last weekend of every February, the central Oregon coast resort town of Newport, swells to well over 17,000 visitors coming to the Festival! for a weekend of wine, wonders in the culinary world, seafood and arts & crafts.

Over 35 food vendors, 24 crafters and 85 wineries will be found at this enormous Festival!

A large variety of craft items will be sold, from articles of clothing, jewlery and art glass, metal sculptures, works of art and hand-painted creamics to handcrafted wine accessories.

Be sure to book lodging early, there is still some availability at this time, but lodging will fill as the event draws closer.

You must be 21 years or older to attend this event. You must also show valid picture ID or you will not be able to enter the event. The site is handicapped accessible and smoke free, with a special outdoor smoking area. Limited parking is available at the facility for a fee, and shuttle buses will run for FREE from Newport, and a shuttle schedule and map will be available on the Chamber's website.

Event Description: A traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage accompanied by Irish soda bread, boiled potatoes & parsley sauce, mashed carrots & parsnips the many tasty temptations presented to accompany a virtual feast, and a delectable bread pudding or apple crisp for dessert! Between courses, Irish Whiskey connoisseurs will enjoy five exceptional tastings of fine exemplars from the Emerald Isle with short educational snippets.
