Summer Market - outdoors (next to city hall) - 9 am to 1 pm
Winter Market - indoors (county fairgrounds exhibit hall) - 10 am - 2 pm

Local organic growers, market gardeners and green thumbs bring their fresh produce to the market. Saturday mornings you will find them busy setting up their tables with the season's best. Early in the season the tables are loaded with peas, lettuces, greens, radishes, new potatoes, and herbs. Later, the season brings varieties of berries, peppers, broccoli, peaches, pickling cucumbers, carrots, corn onions, squash, tomatoes, apples, and much more.

The Newport Farmers' Market has more than produce and garden blooms. You will find beautiful arts and crafts, unique services and fun events. Hand made soaps, knitted and felted hats, garden art, wooden planters, beautiful jewelry, tie dye clothing, photography, art glass, and much, much more. You can also get a massage and listen to great music! All of the handcrafted items at the Market are made by local artists. A fun place to shop for the perfect gift.

Event Description: Celebrating 35 years of unique Christmas crafts on the Oregon Coast. Three days:

All items homemade and juried. Includes homemade jam, candles, cookies, breads all freshly baked!! Quilted wall hangings, table runners, appliqued sweatshirts, dried apples, Christmas wreaths, lavender sachets and bundles, bath soaps, aprons, tea towels, photography, Santas, angels, snowmen and ornaments galore!!

Once again we will also be raffling off two baskets filled with items that members have made as a way to give back to the community. This year's raffle proceeds will go to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter Medical Fund to give animals a second chance by receiving important veterinary care. Last year's raffle raised over $400 for our charity.

Event Description: SCUBA Santa, sparkling lights and an ocean of holiday cheer will greet visitors every weekend this December at the Oregon Coast Aquarium's Sea of Lights celebration.

Over half a million colorful lights and holiday decorations will surround visitors with the spirit of the season as they explore the Aquarium after hours. Santa will be present every night of Sea of Lights until Christmas to pose for photos and note visitors' Christmas wishes.

Castles power trio band includes drums & keyboards creating a wall of sound and a high energy experience delivering the magic, mystery, and deep roots of the Celtic Christmas tradition with their impressive holiday show.

This special holiday concert is a fund raising event for the Capital Campaign "Entertain the Future!" with proceeds to be used for the Restroom and Lobby Expansion Initiative. This $4.3 million Capital Campaign project includes a series of initiatives to enhance and expand the Newport Performing Arts Center. The Pacific Communities Health District Foundation presents the 20th Annual Festival of Trees from Dec. 9 to 13 at the Center for Health Education in Newport. Beautifully decorated trees, entertainment, visits with Santa, and special events all create a festive environment.

This year, the Festival theme is "New Beginnings." Together, we will raise funds to purchase automated mannequins that will enhance our staff's ability to care for infants and toddlers. This state-of-the art equipment allows clinical staff to practice critical skills needed to diagnose and treat pediatric patients. Dubbed SimBaby and SimToddler, the mannequins will reside in the Center for Health Education's skills lab and be available to staff from all hospital departments, including the Obstetrics and Emergency Departments.

Plan to attend one or more events to set the tone for this holiday season. Special events include:

Open House - Wednesday, Dec. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. Enjoy holiday music and refreshments as you meander among a forest of beautifully decorated trees. Suggested donation is $2 for children, $5 for adults, and $10 for a family. No one is turned away.

Gala and Auction - Saturday, Dec. 12, 5:30 to 10 p.m. By reservation only.* Savor the champagne social as you peruse the silent auction table to the music of the Bringetto Jazz Duo. Delight in a scrumptious buffet. $95 per person on or before Dec. 1/$115 after Dec. 1.

Family Fun Day and visit from Santa - Sunday, Dec. 13, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's play time. Create at craft tables, enjoy student performances, visit Santa, and be merry at an event that is all about the kids. Suggested donation is $2 for children, $5 for adults, and $10 for a family. No one is turned away.

Event Description Relax and enjoy live Christmas carols and holiday themed orchestral music with the astonishing quality of the Performing Arts Center. Our local Central Coast Chorale joins the Corvallis Repertory Singers to perform well known and surprising carols with a small ensemble of NSO orchestra musicians under the baton on Steven Zielke. Works include Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Mozart's Exaltate Jubilate, and more contemporary composer Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna. This is a great opportunity to bring friends and family together to celebrate the season. This concert repeats on Sunday, December 13 at 2 p.m.

Event Description The talented mezzo soprano Erica Brookhyser, raised in Newport and now based in Boston, returns to the Newport Symphony Orchestra for an performance of winter romance and reflection. In the Performing Arts Center, you will hear every note with its amazing sound. Enjoy Franz Schubert's graceful and lyrical, Rosemunde. Ms Brookhyser performs the deeply romantic musical poetry of Ruckert Lieder by Gustav Mahler. The orchestra continues the concert under Maestro Adam Flatt with The Unanswered Question by Charles Ives. The selection seeks to ponder the question of existence with voices from various sections of the orchestra. Robert Schumann s Symphony No. 4 in D Minor was written to celebrate a joyous time. After considerable rewriting, it was released again in 1851 whereby it has been performed the leading symphonies.
