Summer Market - outdoors (next to city hall) - 9 am to 1 pm
Winter Market - indoors (county fairgrounds exhibit hall) - 10 am - 2 pm

Local organic growers, market gardeners and green thumbs bring their fresh produce to the market. Saturday mornings you will find them busy setting up their tables with the season's best. Early in the season the tables are loaded with peas, lettuces, greens, radishes, new potatoes, and herbs. Later, the season brings varieties of berries, peppers, broccoli, peaches, pickling cucumbers, carrots, corn onions, squash, tomatoes, apples, and much more.

The Newport Farmers' Market has more than produce and garden blooms. You will find beautiful arts and crafts, unique services and fun events. Hand made soaps, knitted and felted hats, garden art, wooden planters, beautiful jewelry, tie dye clothing, photography, art glass, and much, much more. You can also get a massage and listen to great music! All of the handcrafted items at the Market are made by local artists. A fun place to shop for the perfect gift.

Event Description: The schooner "America" will be in Newport as part of the Tour and we have a Sunset Sail aboard her. Experience the thrill of sailing aboard this world class vessel which will be moored at Port Dock 3, at the foot of Hatfield Drive.

The yacht is a painstaking replica of the original "America," which in 1851 stunned the world by winning the legendary sailing race around the Isle of Wight and won the trophy that now bears her name, the America's Cup!

Dockside Tours of the schooner "America" will be open to the public at Port of Newport from 1:00PM to 3PM. There will also be a sail aboard "America" open to the public that will depart from the dock at 4:15 PM. Tickets for the sail will be $75 for adults, and $55 for children 12 and under. If you want to experience this unique opportunity, please purchase your tickets early as this cruise is popular! The presentation will be made by Troy Sears, owner of the yacht "America". The program includes an overview of the Cup's storied history, a chance to relive the dramatic comeback of AC34, and an inside look at what to expect for AC35 in Bermuda. The presentations offer an exciting way to experience the America's Cup in an evening of entertainment for all. In addition to all this, there will be streaming America's Cup videos on multiple screens.

This event is open to the public so invite all your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers for this spectacular event sharing the excitement of "America" and the America's Cup!

The 50th Anniversary Celebration, located outdoors in front of the HMSC Visitor Center, will feature distinguished speakers, a historical slide show and a new video celebrating HMSC's bright future. Event Description: It's back for the 4th great year, the amazing Great Albacore Tuna BBQ Challenge presented by the Oregon Albacore Commission and the Port of Newport! Over 30 teams will be competing for $3,700 in prize money and your admission allows you to sample all of their incredible tuna culinary creations. Plus sample delicious ales from the Pelican Brewery and enjoy a major classic car show featuring classics from the collection of the Bay City Cruisers and Rollin' Oldies.

Tickets are $15 adult, $10 student & $5 youth for Saturday's competition and are available online or at the door (if any remain). Family Crabbing Workshop

Event Description: Don t just seafood, catch your food. Come on out and join us at this family workshop. We ll take you from the ocean to the dinner plate, showing you how to catch, clean and cook your harvest and send you off with some great recipes. This workshop will be held near Newport. Your registration fee includes the use of all necessary equipment, instruction/materials and lunch.

All participants 14 years of age and older are required to have a current Oregon Shellfish License in order to participate in the crabbing portion of this workshop. The cost is $7.00 for an annual resident shellfish license; $20.50 for an annual nonresident shellfish license or $11.50 for a nonresident 3-day shellfish license.

Event Description: Neil Simon's first play is an uproarious comedy that takes place in 1961. The era of Mad Men and the Rat Pack. Alan Baker, a 30-ish swinging bachelor with time, money and women to spare, welcomes his rebellious and eager younger brother, Buddy, into his den of iniquity. Buddy wants to be a writer but their father only wants him to take over the family business, the largest manufacturer of wax fruit on the east coast. The mother only wants peace in the family even if it makes her nauseous. Peggy has stars in her eyes. Connie has a song in her heart and Alan probably has condoms in his wallet. Yes, it's a family show.

Event Description: tough enough to compete in the gnarliest mud/obstacle race on the Oregon Coast?

The Buccaneer Rampage will be Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Newport Oregon, and will feature a number of challenging obstacles spread out over a few miles of muddy, challenging terrain. Competitors will have to brave everything from flaming hurdles to mud crawls and rope walls. <

This event is organized by the City of Newport Parks and Recreation, and all proceeds from the event go to help the youth sports scholarship program. Prizes will be given to the top finishers in each group and the best pirate costume! <
